Offered here is a rare and very unique calcite specimen from a very limited find many years ago! Larger discoidal ("Poker-Chip") calcites have grown on wheat sheaf calcites covered by microscopic crystals. It is fluorescent and emits an orange glow under long-wave UV light. As you hold and rotate the specimen, the microscopic crystals look like twinkling stars - it really is amazingly beautiful! These are a must see in person!
Origin: Nikolaevskiy Mine, Dal'Negorsk, Russia
Dimensions (cm): 3.3 x 3.2 x 2.1
All specimens include a label bearing the mineral name and origin as well as historic label(s) for the specimen if any.
